

She was born on January 9, 1932 in rural Hanna City, a daughter of Edward J. Kroepel and Marie (Fischer) Kroepel. Irma married Donald J. "Jake" Uphoff on June 30, 1951 in Glasford. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2013 in Glasford.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bernice Stevens and Eleanor Rosenbohm; one brother, Lawrence Kroepel; two sons, Jim and Gary Uphoff.
Irma is survived by three grandchildren, Kristin (Bill) Hedge of Mapleton, Jaimie Uphoff of Mapleton, and Jacob Uphoff of Knoxville, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Suzanne Uphoff of Mapleton.
She was the Postmaster for Edwards, Illinois Post Office, retiring in 1993 after 25 years.
Irma was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in rural Glasford and the Red Hat Society. She loved spending time with her family, genealogy, and volunteering at Wildlife Prairie Park Gift Shop.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2026 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in rural Glasford. The Rev. Raymond Barclay will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Glasford.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or a charity of donor's choice.
