Jack was born in Pekin on April 29, 1939 to Albert Buchanan and Muriel Wolfer. He later married his wife Barbara, she survives.
Also surviving are his two sons; Brian (Carin) and Brett Buchanan, two sisters; Jodie Buchanan and Joyce (Jerry) Risinger, one brother-in-law; Daniel (Caroline) Pfanz, three grandchildren; Beau, Brooke, and Carrie (Dustin), and two great-grandchildren; Brynn and Tanner.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents.
Jack worked throughout his life as a manager at a steel mill. He worked for both Keystone and Northwestern Steel and Wire. He was also a veteran of the Air Force Air Guard.
In his free time, Jack loved to be out on the lake. He was especially fond of Lake Arlann in Pekin.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Home and Crematory in Pekin with no services planned at this time.
