He was born June 28, 1938 in Springfield. He married Jacquelyn M. Woolsey on April 25, 1959 at the Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield.
Surviving his wife of 63 years, Jackie of Sherman; one daughter, Sherri (James) Garrett of Sherman; six grandchildren, Aaron (Martina) Sidles, Sam Ippolito, Mark (Molly) Ippolito, all of Pekin, Josh (Sami) Garrett of Montana, Greg Garrett of Georgia and Wendy Ippolito of Virden; six great-grandchildren and one sister, Ethellynn Neville of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethellynn and George Knowski and one daughter, Rebecca Ippolito.
Jack was a member of the Elks Lodge 158 in Springfield and a former 34-year member of the Operating Engineers Local 965 in Springfield.
He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for City Water, Light and Power (CWLP) in Springfield, retiring in 2001.
Jack enjoyed playing golf, riding his motorcycle and attending NASCAR races. Earlier in life, he loved flying small aircraft.
Jack and his wife, Jackie were snowbirds, wintering in Florida since their retirement.
He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield.
His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Chaplain Ellen Anderson will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
