

Born August 8, 1930 in Benton to Gilbert and Virginia (Wilhelm) Munday, he married Phyllis Smith on May 20, 1951 in Creve Coeur. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jackie (William) Becker and Joy (Jimmy "Skip") Denny, both of Creve Coeur; one son, Steve (Terry) Munday of East Peoria; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Frances Munday of Creve Coeur.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mike Munday; and one half-brother, Everette Camden.
Jack was baptized at First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur many years ago.
He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He had worked for Keystone Steel & Wire Company in the netting department for 38 years, retiring in 1989.
Family was always number one in Jack's life. He also loved food.
He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Martin-Courtney Post #4835 and a 43 year member and past master of the Frank Nicol Lodge #1170 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Illinois in Creve Coeur.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Dwight Winnett will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Creve Coeur, where Masonic rites will follow. Burial will be in Fon du Lac Cemetery in East Peoria, where military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
