

He was born October 25, 1941 in Peoria to Jacob and Fanny (Goddard) Zabukovec. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Phillips.
Surviving are two sons, Randy K. Zabukovec of Tampa, Florida and Jacob H. (Melissa) Zabukovec, Jr. of Hudson; two daughters, Theresa L. Clasen and Angela J. Zabukovec, both of Pekin; and two grandsons, Jacob Edward Zabukovec of Pekin and Connor Jacob Zabukovec. He also leaves his longtime companion, Connie Isbell of Pekin.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963.
Jack worked for Caterpillar, Inc. at the Mapleton foundry for 31 years as a machine repairman, retiring in 1991. He later worked as a bartender at the Pekin Country Club.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #974 Retirees Club. He also had been a member of the Pekin Family Moose Center 916 and the George M. Maple AMVETS Post 235 in Pekin.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Private burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in West Peoria. Military rites will be provided by the United States Navy.
