

Born August 22, 1942 in Pekin to James C. and Virginia (White) Williams, he married Susan Genseal on December 18, 1961 in Green Valley. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Brian Williams of North Fort Myers, FL and Ricky Williams of Manito; two daughters, Teresa Maines of Fort Myers, FL and Michelle Blount of North Fort Myers, FL; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leilani Doss of Morton and Julie Hedrick of Cape Coral, FL.
He was preceded in death by one son, Brad; two grandchildren, Alexis Williams and Mark Williams and one brother, Dennis.
Doug had served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He worked as an Iron Worker with Union Local #112 in East Peoria for many years. He had owned and operated Gem Shoppe in Fort Myers for many years. He had also owned Semmco Steel in East Peoria.
An avid hunter and NASCAR fan, Doug loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. John E. Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Following the service family and friends are invited to gather at the Miller Center in Pekin for a time of food and fellowship.
