

Born May 11, 1941 in Mackinaw Dells, IL to Harry and Annabelle (Huffman) Hasty, he married Marcella “Sally” Darling on November 30, 1957 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jesse J. (Debra) Hasty of Pekin and Marshall L. (Cindy) Hasty of Morton; two daughters, Dolly K. (Martin) Morris of Pekin and Sally J. (Tim) Kieser of Topeka; seven grandchildren, Tyson (Cassie) Sutton of South Pekin, Marcella (Morgan Lanan) McMahon of Glasford, Travis (Marrianne) Sutton, Jenny (Dustin) Schaefer, James (Toni O’Dell) Morris, all of Pekin, Brandi (Henry McGlothlin) Morris of Manito and Stephanie Hasty of Champaign and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Richard Hasty, Glen Hasty and Raymond Hasty and one sister, Mary Estes.
He owned and operated Jim and Sally’s Standard Service on Court Street in Pekin with his wife from 1966 to 1995. He previously had worked at Morton Buildings.
Jim loved fishing and playing cards. He will also be remembered as a great chef who was known especially for his fried chicken.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Manito.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manito. Pastor Gerry L. Weaver will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, and also from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
