

Born October 13, 1941 in Lincoln to Lewis and Goldie Eileen (Sapp) Kashock, he married Melda Frances Burns on May 25, 1968 in Lincoln. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Ann (Perry) Watson of Pekin and Deborah Kay (Scott) Schmick of Green Valley; three grandchildren, Travis (Larissa) Watson of Groveland, Shayla (Garret) Kesselmayer and Ashley Schmick, both of Pekin; one step grandson, William Robert “Billy” (Shay) Merry of Forest City and one sister, Mary Ann (Richard) Dermody of Everett, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 38 years, retiring on January 1, 2011 as a shell machine/core maker at the Mapleton Foundry.
He enjoyed fishing and especially watching movies both at home and at the theater. He also enjoyed going to classic car shows. Jim was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge in Lincoln.
His memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. Inurnment will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin at a later date.
