Born February 18, 1949 in Peoria to James P. and Susan (Sholden) McKenzie, he married Linda K. Price on March 4, 1970 in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, James (Jody) McKenzie of East Peoria and Chad McKenzie of Pekin; one daughter, Jodi (Brian) Nutter of Peoria; two grandchildren, Jillian and J.P. McKenzie, both of East Peoria; and one brother, Kenneth Fortney of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim worked for Amsan Vonachen's in Peoria for 30 years, retiring April 7, 2006 as a service technician.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 265 in Peoria.
Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting.
His funeralwill be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Chris Coursey will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery in Green Valley.
