

Born March 15, 1925 in Pekin to Alfred W. and Alma H. (Oltman) Nash, he married Lois Ann Harms on June 15, 1947 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, David Alan (Linda) Nash, Donald Wayne Nash, Douglas James (Glenda) Nash, and Richard Louis (Julie) Nash, all of Pekin; two grandchildren, Jenny Bjorling of Pekin and Christopher (Alicia) Nash of Morton; four great-grandchildren, Jessalyn Bjorling, Brennan Bjorling, Vanessa Bjorling, and Kaelyn Nash; and one sister, Carol (Robert) Glaser of Danvers.
His parents preceded him in death.
A United States Army veteran of World War II, he served from June 30, 1943 to March 11, 1946. He attained the rank of Private First Class. He served in General Patton’s 3rd Army, 4th Armored Division.
Jim worked at Aerco in Peoria and later for Sam's Heating and Cooling in Pekin.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, where he was a former usher and trustee of the church. He also was a ham radio operator with the call sign WA9N0J.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. The Rev. Dr. Rodger P. Abatie will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin and also from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
