James Leo Riviere

Born August 31, 1946 in Pekin to Frank and Dorothy (Risinger) Riviere, he married Ginger Aeschlimann on September 11, 1966 at Saint Paul United Church of Christ. She survives.

Also surviving are his son, James “Scott” (Ella) Riviere of Pekin; two grandchildren, Hunter Riviere and Jacob Trew; one great-granddaughter, Everly Trew and one sister, Sharon (Tim) Zimmerman of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kristine Trew and two brothers, Larry and Terry Riviere.

Jim was a United Sates Army veteran, serving in Vietnam as a combat medic.

Jim had worked in dairy for 45 years, starting at Borden’s Dairy from 1969 to 1989, finally working as a driver and plant worker at Prairie Farms.

He enjoyed racing dirt cars with his son in Peoria. They also enjoyed rabbit hunting and fishing in Chetek, Wisconsin.

He was a member of St Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin.

Inurnment will be held at a later date at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
