James Robert Saunders

Born April 2, 1945 in Pekin to Walter and Virgie (Hamm) Saunders, he married Kathy A. Cunningham on September 9, 1995 in Groveland. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Jennifer (Justin) Nattier of Mackinaw; one son, Jonathan (Kalene) Cunningham of Pekin and two grandchildren, Courtney and Tate Nattier of Mackinaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Walter L. Saunders.

Jim retired in 1996 after 27 years as a maintenance worker for Pekin Community High School District #303.

In his free time Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding. A one of a kind soul, Jimmy had a big heart, a determined spirit and enjoyed being with family. He was a member of Duck’s Unlimited.

His private graveside service will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
