James B Staley

Born July 23, 1945 in Evanston to Francis and Marilynn (Buell) Staley, he married B. Jean Brown on August 9, 1969 in Peoria.

Surviving are one daughter, Rebecca Joy (Brian) Whitmer of Creve Coeur; one son, Scott Matthew Staley of Peoria; two grandsons, Christopher Alan (Courtney) Whitmer of Washington and Matthew Ryan (Emily) Whitmer of Creve Coeur; and one sister, Barbara Perez of Peoria.

His parents preceded him in death.

Jim worked as an accountant for many years at Chris Hoerr and Son Company and later Scrivner, both in East Peoria.  He last worked as a case worker for Human Service Center in Peoria for several years.

He was a facilitator for Mood Challenge in Peoria.

Jim enjoyed candle making and woodworking.

His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Living Waters Community Church, 632 Groveland Street, Creve Coeur, where visitation will be one hour before the service.  Pastor Brian Fatheree will officiate.
