

Delavan ~ Janell Ann Meyer, 74, of Delavan, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at her home. She was born on December 1, 1951, in Jacksonville, a daughter of Narlis Hodge and Shirley (Day) Hodge. Janell married Dave Meyer on March 18, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives.
She is also survived by her two daughters, Monica Brennan of Peoria and Richell (Jared) Smith of Groveland; three step-daughters, Megan Boyden of Estero, Florida, Michelle Campbell of Bixby, Oklahoma, and Melissa (Eric) Bogle of Chapel Hills, Florida; niece, like a daughter, Kerris Osborn of Jacksonville; nephew, like a son, Dewey Osborn of Berkley Springs, West Virginia; her beloved grandchildren, Riley and Raegan Brennan and Brennan and Joel Smith; her sister, Narleen Owens of Jacksonville; her sister-in-law, Cheryl Hodge of Versailles; and five nieces and nephews, Tim Hodge, Bodie Hodge, Rudy Hodge, Cassie DeVries, and Alexis Briggs.
Janell was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Rich Brennan; and one brother, Jimmy Hodge.
She was a graduate of Jacksonville High School, Class of 1969.
Janell loved her "little bit of paradise" at her home in Delavan. She loved being on the pontoon which she called "Blue Jay". Janell was the ultimate host to everyone. She was a member of Valley Chapel Church in Green Valley, where she served in many areas. Janell especially loved serving in Sunday school, VBS, and Mom's Day Out. She was known as the "Candy Lady" to all the kids.
There will be a celebration of life gathering at a later date. Details will be forthcoming. Cremation has been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
