Born September 2, 1955 in Peoria to James Edward Pollock and Mary Alice (Parker) Pollock-Johnson, she married Gregg Doza February 26, 1999 in Groveland. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jamie (Josh) Lane of Peoria; one son, Rob (Cassie) Colson of Springlake; one step-son, Ryan Doza of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, Jayde, Jordan and Joseph French, Justin (Megan) Colson, Marissa Colson, Thecla Gavin, Trinity, Rylee and Alexus Doza; two brothers, Ed (Terri Hand) Pollock of Eureka and Jeff (Tammy) Pollock of Youngsville, North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Dennis Johnson and her sister and best friend, Pat Franks.
Jan worked as a customer service representative for Affina before retiring in 2011. Previously she has worked for Mitsubishi Motors as an auto worker from 1993 to 2005 and as a banquet bartender at the Mark Twain Hotel in East Peoria.
She enjoyed fishing, traveling and looking for seashells. Jan was famous for her chicken-n-noodles and her secret recipe for chocolate gravy.
Jan loved her children and grandchildren, everyone she met became family. No one had a bigger heart than her, as every child in her family could attest. Her smile and the twinkle in her eyes would light up a room. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marquette Heights.
Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Ken Klein will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
