Jean A Matthews

Born February 16, 1924 in Peoria to William and Electa (Ladd Matheny) Middleton, she married Allen Martin Matthews on August 2, 1943 in Stillwater, OK. He died November 10, 1992 in Peoria. Also preceding her in death are her parents; one sister, Alice Wiemers of Pekin and one great-granddaughter, Jenna.

Surviving are one daughter, Barbara (Don) Cullenand one son, Martin (Sheila) Matthews, both of Pekin; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

She had been a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015. The Rev. Daniel Bishop will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
