

Born December 5, 1939 in Tremont to Ernest Ervin and Bertie Irene (DeWeese) Hoyle, he married Palestine Sharon “Pat” Robbins on December 21, 1957 in Pekin. She died September 15, 2011 in Morton. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carol Morrow.
Surviving are two sons, Aaron (Brenda) Hoyle of Pekin, Andrew (Lori) Hoyle of Green Valley; three daughters, April (Brett) Pullins of Groveland, Annette (Tim) Kelso of East Peoria and Audra (Ed) Harris of Forest City; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank (Norma) Hoyle, Richard Hoyle, both of Pekin and James (Tracey) Hoyle of Manito and three sisters, Judy Spencer, Becky (Steve) Newcomb and Wendy (Donnie) Barbour, all of Pekin.
Jerry had served in the United States Army. He began his working career with Corn Products Company, which later became Pekin Energy and then Williams. He retired from Williams in February 2001 with 44 years of service, last working as an operator in the millhouse. He also had worked as a bus monitor for Hoyle School Transportation for six years.
He was a diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs. Jerry also liked to fish, frequent garage sales and enjoyed eating at Ernie’s every evening. He looked forward to playing Euchre at the Miller Center every Friday. He formerly raced motorcycles and was an avid bowler for many years.
Jerry was a member of Pekin First Church of God.
His funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at Pekin First Church of God. Pastor Johnny Creasong will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
