Jerry J. Klopfenstein
December 20, 1944 – May 9, 2022

PEKIN ~ Jerry Jay Klopfenstein, 77, of Pekin, passed away at 7:55 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 at his home.
Born December 20, 1944 in Peoria to William P. and Hope Aldene (Brown) Klopfenstein, he married Winnette Louise “Winnie” Eertmoed on May 9, 2003 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly (Richard) Davis and Kerri Klopfenstein, both of Florida; three stepsons, John Schmitt, Richard (Diana) Schmitt and Matt (Brook) McCreary, all of Pekin; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul (Betty) Klopfenstein of Morton; one sister, Jane (Dan) Chittick of Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Virginia Klopfenstein of Peoria and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kristen Leigh Klopfenstein and one brother, Jim Klopfenstein.
A graduate of Morton High School, Jerry attended the University of Illinois and Bradley University. He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 33 years retiring as a warehouse manager in 1995.
He enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and camping. He especially enjoyed going to NHRA Racing events.
Jerry attended Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin.
No services or visitation are planned. Inurnment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the food pantry of Grace United Methodist Church, 601 North 4th Street, Pekin, IL 61554.
