

Joe was born May 2, 1954 in Peoria to Stanley and Mary (Weaver) Koga. He later married Carmen Folken, she survives.
Also surviving are one son; Jason M. Koga of Las Vegas, two grandsons; Dean and Dawson Koga of Las Vegas, seven siblings; Vicki Mesecher of Washington, IL, Debbie Sweatt of Hortonville, WI, Mark Koga of Washington, IL, Stan Koga of Bartonville, IL, Kim Fiers of North Ft. Myers, FL, Michelle Chamberlain of Sodus, NY, and Chris Koga of Dale, WI, several nieces and nephews, as well as Joe’s close and dear friend since grade school, Darrell Pentecost of Washington, IL.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Joe enjoyed reading his Bible daily, spending time outdoors, and being around dogs.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Home and Crematory in Pekin with no scheduled services at this time.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Joe’s name to Taps No-Kill Animal Shelter at 100 TAPS Lane Pekin, IL to honor his love for dogs.
