Joel Leroy McClary

Born January 7, 1966 in Arlington Heights to Harvey and Mary Ann (Bon) McClary, he married Valerie Petermann on March 5, 1988 in East Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Chelsi (Alex) Sinkhorn of Gilbert, Arizona and Jo (Mikayla) Howard of Morton; one sister, Julie McClary of Pekin; one brother, John (Melinda) McClary of Pekin and his beloved fur grandchildren, Kobie, Katsu, Chester, Willow and Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joel enjoyed cooking and serving smiles to others for 35 years retiring in 2019. He loved music, shopping and playing BINGO.

He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton.

His memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2023 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton. Monsignor Jerry Ward will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
