

He was born May 10, 1983 in Peoria to John Earl and Judy Ann (Wilson) Hobbie, Jr.
Surviving are his parents, of East Peoria; one daughter, Jayda Andrews of Pekin; two sisters, Tammie (Tom) Mason of Arvada, Colorado and Holly (Mike) Peal of East Peoria; girlfriend, Amanda Nickens of Moline; paternal grandmother, Loretta Hobbie of Creve Coeur; maternal grandfather, Leonard Lukowski of Morton; two nieces, three nephews and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, maternal grandmother, and one uncle, Roger Hobbie.
John was a forklift operator at Jacobsen Warehouse in Moline.
He enjoyed fishing, playing video games and was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan.
John was well known for his larger than life personality. He was a friend to all and never knew a stranger. If you were fortunate enough to spend time with him, you were guaranteed to laugh and smile. He was loved by all his family and many friends and will be missed dearly.
His memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
