

Born November 1, 1968 in Jacksonville, Florida, he was the son of Floyd and Mary (Payne) Marden. John married Bridget Yvonne Fuller on February 29, 2008 in South Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two bonus daughters, Zonna (Jace) Perreault of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Kizzy Swingle of East Peoria; two grandchildren, Leia Perreault and Tripp Marshall; one brother, Charles Marden of Elkton, Maryland; one sister, Patti Marden of Elkton, Maryland and two nieces, Taylar Marden and Rianna Marden
His parents preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Bridgette Marden and his mother-in-law, Deanna Martin.
John last worked for Keystone Steel & Wire Company in Bartonville. He previously worked for Caterpillar, Inc., and Tazewell Machine Works.
John loved rock and heavy metal music. He enjoyed reading Greek mythology and learning about medieval times too. He liked going to thrift stores and especially trying on hats. He also liked eagles, dragons, octopus, and skulls.
He attended the Rock Church in East Peoria.
His memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Please wear casual dress or your favorite band shirt to honor John’s love for music. There will be no service. Cremation has been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, American Diabetes Association or to Tazewell Animal Protective Society.
