John "Johnny" Oscar Tabor

Born February 5, 1975, in Pekin to Carlonia Rodriguez and Charles Tabor.

Surviving is his daughter, Kalana Tabor of Pekin; his mother, “Corkie” Rodriguez of Morton; his siblings, Ronald Tabor and Jerry Tabor, both of Lexington, South Carolina and Theresa Hartley of Secor and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Johnny worked as a millwright for Local Union 1693 and 2258.

He was a man of many talents and a jack of all trades. Johnny was a master of the arts; he loved to sing, draw, and play the guitar. He could tell stories vividly and could host any room he entered. His daughter remembers his big heart and how he will be sincerely missed.

“You are nothing at this age but potential – make something of that and realize that even when we don’t get what we want, we are still only given a limited amount of day to do things, see things, meet people, fall in love, be hurt, and more.”

A gathering celebrating Johnny’s life was held on July 17, 2026. Cremation has been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
