

He was born July 22, 1966 in Pekin to Arlin "Tort" and Wanda (Garner) Thompson.
Surviving are his father and step-mother, "Tort" (Susan) Thompson of North Pekin; his biological mother, Wanda Johnson of Morton; grandparents, John (Jewel) Long of Pekin; 2 half-brothers, Kevin Thompson of Pekin and Darian (Heather) Johnson of Green Valley; and 1 half-sister, Denise (Rod) Teaney of Pekin.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Maurice (Dorothy) Thompson.
Since 2005, he had been a security officer at Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach, Calif. Previously, he had been a correctional officer in Colorado.
Jonathan had attended Illinois State University for 3 years and received an associate degree in criminology from Trinidad State Community College in Colorado.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Operation Desert Storm.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded.
