Diesel, I cant believe it. I still cant. Like Hollywood said, you were as loyal as one can get. You were what a friend SHOULD be. I know we lost contact after i left the Shark Club but i always wondered about you. I missed you man. Im jealous that Hollywood saw you more than i did. I blame myself for not keeping in contact with you. You were a great Marine and a damn good friend. To all those that knew you. The ones that didnt wished that they were so lucky. It was an honor to have known you. And im glad i had the chance of calling you a friend. Thanks for the goodtimes at the club. You will 4 ever be missed and loved by so many. But hugely by me. I love you brother. Rest In Peace.

SEMPER FIDELIS ( EXTREME LOYALTY )

What can i say about my friend Jon? I don't think anything i could put on paper would ever explain how good of a person or friend he was. I just found out about his passing last week and I'm extremely confused and hurt over it. Jon worked with me at the shark club in Costa mesa ca. as a doorman and went by the nickname "Diesel". In that environment we all had to work as a team to keep the peace and to keep each other safe from customers who got out of hand. Jon did his job better than anyone and was always on time and never missed a shift. If something happened and he missed it he would never forgive himself. In a job that does not pay very much he had this loyalty. The loyalty he had was not for the job but to his fellow door staff members. He always said that the job reminded him of his military days. When a staff member messed up or dropped the ball Jon was right there on top of him counting his push ups. Him and i grew very close while he worked there. I would say like brothers. We went to baseball games and hockey games, shot pool and so on. I'll never forget our conversations but most of all his willingness to help you out when you were in need. I'LL MISS YOUR FRIENDSHIP JON!!! I'll never forget you. my heart goes out to your family. Your buddy Marcel AKA Hollywood.

It's almost been a month and I still can't believe it.  I still pass by the bungalow gatehouse literally every time I work, especially the morning shift, to see if you are there. I've texted you many times... looking for my friend to talk to.  I miss you so much Jon.  As I told you all the time, I love you.  Jon, I love you so much.  I wouldn't have made it this far without you.  You sat with me, cried with me, smiled at me, encouraged me... and even if we both shared the same story to each other every day over and over and over again, it didn't matter because we were there for each other.  I got to seee you cry, hear your cry.  You were with me when I needed you most on Thanksgiving.  You are my big brother... and you always called me Matt and Doug your best friends.  You said you shared everything with me... I miss you calling me sweetheart and reminding me that I have a special purpose.  I miss your phone calls and your texts and your emails... but most of all I miss your smile.  I miss your hugs.  I was so fortunate to have such a dear friend to work with... someone who I could see on a regular basis who really loved me. Jon, you really loved me.  And that has made all the difference in the world to me.  You beat me to heaven, jerk! Just kidding... you're not a jerk. But selfishly, I wish you were here u so I could call you a jerk... and beat you up :)  One of the last conversations we had you were protecting me in the security office from Doug and Sean I think.  I just remember- kidding or not- you standing up for me.  Jon, I can't tell you all the hours of you listening to me, what it did for me. Gosh, I am really  going to miss when you would get mad and me and come back with that look of yours apologizing... face down with that smirk on your face.   You were such a man when it came to saying sorry.  The good thing is now... Jon you don't have to choose a church!  I know now you are probably dancing... or singing... or rather you are probably watching Seinfeld eating cherries with the best church you could get: Heaven!  I can't wait to see you again and then maybe we can continue to have our endless conversations. I love you Jon Thompson... thank you for being an angel in my life... you'll never know what you've meant to me. I LOVE YOU!

I never did know John, but know Wanda, Tort, Denise & Darian my thoughts and prayers are with you. My first born was 7/25/66 just a few days from John's.  I can't imagin the pain in loosing a child.  My sympathy is with you all, and remember the good times.   Sincerely,  Holly Haas Irving

Jon you were my first born and I loved so much. Even though I was not around when you were growing up there is not a day in my life that I did not think of you. Your brothers and sister love you too. You are now in Gods hands and he will take of you. Rest now my son, nothing can hurt you now. We will all be together again on the other side, til then know we love and miss you very much. I love you son now and forever.

I was so sorry to hear about Jon. He was a fun kid to be around growing up and will always be remembered.

To John's family, I am so sorry for your loss.  I remember John as the cutest little boy with a great big smile.  My last memory of him is a sad one.  My daughter was in his classes and on the first day of 7th grade, one of John's friends was hit by a pick up truck and died.  At the visitation, John was standing at the head of the coffin and the look on his face is something I will never forget.  It just made my heart ache for him.  And, it aches for you the same way.

Tort sue& Wanda I am so sorry for your loss you have our deepest sympathy.

Will never forget going to the Pekin Cinema and seeing Rocky III with Jon and Mike Hetrick and then afterwards back to Jons house were he talked me into putting on the gloves and sparring with him in the living room. It was only a matter of a few punches that I was staggering. I never got the chance to tell him that he taught me a valuable lesson that evening. I have never put another pair of boxing gloves on since.(smiling). Thanks for allowing me to play all those games with you my good friend. (even the one at Rogers when you broke your arm while playing basketball). You may be gone but you will always be remembered. 




   

I was so happy to hear the story of how Jon came to faith. I enjoyed the time we were able to share catching up with each others lives. Jon loved Jesus and I know i will see him again someday!!

Wanda -- We know some of what you are going through, but not what it feels like to lose a child.  We do know the sudden loss of someone you love.  It's been a rough year for you, and we pray from this day forward that things only get better.  Always remember Jon's love for you and yours for him. I met John at the Pelican Hill Resort.Uauuu he was just so positive and had his wonderful smile at all times for everybody.I always loved giving him a big hug because hewas always so sincere.He was the greatest listener.I just found out tonight 03/13/2010 from one of our co-workers in Disneyland.I was in shock and I looked up his facebook profile because he is my friend.I know he is going to Heaven I will always pray for that.Rest in Peace dear John.With all my love Nicoleta.

I know you struggled to find your place in this world and I hope that you have found it and are at peace.  I will always cherish our times together.  It meant so much to me to have my "big brother" pick me up from school!  Even though we grew apart over the years, for whatever reason, I never stopped loving you. I am so proud to have you as a brother and I can't wait to see you again one day!  Rest now....
