Judith Kay Friend

Judith "Judy" Kay Friend, 78, of East Peoria, formerly of Marquette Heights, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on April 2, 1947, in Peoria, a daughter of Weldon and Wilma (Roberts) Friend.

Judy is survived by her brother, Charles (Lisa) Friend of East Peoria; two nieces, Shena Friend of East Peoria and Christina (Corey) Schroeter of Lakeside, Montana; two great-nieces; and three great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Judy was a graduate of East Peoria Community High School, Class of 1965.

She worked as a customer service representative for CILCO/Ameren for 32 years, retiring in 1999.

Judy's faith and family were very important to her. She loved reciting her favorite Bible verses daily. She enjoyed playing the organ and completing word searches.

Judy's graveside service will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Rev. Robin Robinson will officiate.

Following the service, friends and family are warmly invited to join in the remembrance of Judy by sharing stories, love, and support together at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home in Pekin from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm also on Saturday.
