Judith Charlene Young

She was born on April 22, 1942 in Pekin, a daughter of Charles A. and Bertha (De Sutter) Tassart. Judith married A. Fred Young on March 7, 1959 in Pekin. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2020.

Judith was also preceded by one son, Mark F. Young; one daughter, Dawn M. Young; and one grandchild, Peighton.

She is survived by her son, John T. Young of Pekin; six grandchildren, Zachary (Shannon) Young of Mt. Zion, Margaret (Ben) Chrisman of Chillicothe, Michael Euchner of Iowa, Wesley (Heaven) Euchner of Iowa, Allan Vandeest of South Carolina and Sierra Weaver of Pekin; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Victoria Tassart of Pekin; and one daughter-in-law, Julie Young-Hackwith of Manito.

Judith was a member of the Pekin Church of Christ and T.O.P.S. She looked forward to and enjoyed meeting with the girls of graduating class once a month. Judith was very supportive and involved with all her grandchildren’s events and made it a point to make every event. She will be remembered for always sharing a greeting card with those that she cared about. Many people didn’t know that Judith has supported and financially helped many others during their time of need and loved being able to assist. Judith took pride in working in her yard, planting flowers and always insisted on flying the American Flag with pride.

Her visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Private burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.
