

Born June 28, 1932 in Langdon, North Dakota, she was one of ten children born to Ole E.M. and Helga (Bratlie) Olson. She met Howard A. Marsden on a blind date and later married on June 19, 1955 in Langdon. He died on April 7, 1994 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and one sister.
Surviving are three sons, Michael (Rochelle) Marsden, David Marsden and Jeffrey (Alicia) Marsden, all of Pekin; one daughter, Lisa (Jim) McClain of Pekin; fourteen grandchildren, Autumn (Anthony Scott) Marsden, Gabrielle Marsden, Dustin (Courtney) Marsden, Joshua Marsden, Cody (Breanna) Marsden, Chase Marsden, Lace Marsden, Cole Marsden, Trent McClain, Haley McClain, Sam McClain, Zed Marsden, Drake Marsden and Rachel Marsden; three great-grandchildren, Jack, Serena and Isabelle; one brother, Ole Olson of Langdon, North Dakota; one sister, Helga (Dennis) Schuschke of Fargo, North Dakota and many nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, June was devoted to her family.
She was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and a past chairwomen of the annual bazaar. She enjoyed making springerle cookies and candy for the bazaar each year. An exceptional baker, she also enjoyed traveling, shopping and playing cards.
She also was a member of the Young Adult Methodist Sunday School Class and was a server for funeral dinners at the church for many years. She was a longtime member of the Pekin Hospital League.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. Pastor Eric N. Swanson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, and also from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
