Born May 1, 1962 in Pekin to Harold and Barbara (Fornoff) Strickler, she married Mike Abbott in Pekin on June 1, 1990. He survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Mike (Melissa) Strickler of Pekin; one nephew, John Strickler of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Karen graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1980.
Her graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. The Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
