After meeting Ray and Karen in Mesa, AZ our friendship grew close. We looked forward every winter to seeing them, visiting, going out to eat, playing bocce ball and just loving time with them. In August of 2016 we drove from our home in Moorhead, MN to Pekin to stay a couple days to visit. Mostly we kept in touch by phone. We laughed together and cried together. We'll treasure every moment spent with Karen and Ray. They were always in our prayers and we will continue to lift up Ray and his family to our Lord Jesus in the days and weeks to come. We love you Ray and pray you'll stay well. Lean on your faith, family and friends to continue on during this difficult time. Norm and Marion Eidenschink

When Karen and I were little our Grandpa Hale, after he ate some lunch, would go in the room where we usually ate holiday meals. There was an old mission style couch he would lay down on for a nap. Karen and I would climb up on his lap and pester him as much as we could. We would giggle and squirm as long as Grandpa could handle it. He would always try to sound gruff to get us to jump down which made us giggle even more. I love you "Kaney Sue". Rest peacefully in God's care till we meet again.
