

Born April 4, 1951 in Keokuk, Iowa to Edward and Teresa (LeMaster) Marlin, she married Jack Tisdale on June 5, 1971 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria. He passed away on March 24, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, John, Barry, Philip, Peter and Paul Marlin; two brothers-in-law, Rob Conover and Lloyd Crombie and one niece-in-law, Nicole Crombie.
Surviving are one sister, Mary Ann Conover of Pekin; one sister-in-law, Connie McCracken of Jacksonville, Florida; nine nieces and nephews, Janelle (Mike) Chavis of Gaston, South Carolina, Daniel (Jill Wilson) Marlin of Peoria, Amelia “Amy” (Nick) Christy of Bryant, Sean (Rosio Sandoval) Crombie of Mesa, Arizona, Ryan (Lacey) Marlin of California, Kevin (Crystal) Marlin of Jacksonville, Florida, Megan (Jeremiah) LaBresh of Des Moines, Iowa, Amanda (Joe) Zehringer of Fort Mill, South Carolina; many great-nieces and great-nephews including three especially close to her, Collin, Grant and Sara Christy and many cousins.
Kate was a 1969 graduate of Richwoods High School. She then attended Sauk Valley Community College and worked as a nurse in Central Illinois for 30 years before retiring from Maple Lawn Homes in 2013. Previously she was a school bus driver and enjoyed her time driving for Peoria School District.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton.
Kate loved her many cats and dogs throughout her life and enjoyed riding horses when she was young. Music was a big part of her life, and she loved to play the organ and piano. She liked genealogy and sharing her family history with anyone who would listen.
Her funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton. Monsignor Timothy Nolan will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday May 27, 2026, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
