Kenneth E Vogel

Born September 14, 1938 in Peoria to Lawrence and Mary Amber (Banks) Vogel, he married Rebecca Jo “Becky” Lynch on June 2, 1962 in Pekin. She died September 15, 2000 in Pekin. He later married Lois Ostlund on November 27, 2004 in Sarasota, Florida. She died December 5, 2010 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Dirk E. Vogel and his in-laws, Donald E and Phyllis R. (Mayhall) Lynch.

Surviving are two daughters, Darci A. (Steve) Burns of Wakefield, Massachusetts and Paige D. Vogel of Indianapolis; one grandson, Malcolm Burns of Wakefield and one brother, Lawrence Vogel of College Station, TX.

Ken served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1961.

He was a retired member of Steamfitters Local 353 in Peoria and the United Association Union of Plumbers, Fitters, Welders & Service Techs.

Ken loved Florida, Cadillacs and playing golf. He was a longtime member of the AMVETS, Moose Lodge and Elks Club.

A memorial visitation celebrating his life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Cremation rites have been accorded.
