Kenneth P Zimmerman

Born October 7, 1954 in Pekin to Franklin and Doris (Buchanan) Zimmerman, he married Laura Wilson on September 30, 1977 in Marquette Heights. She survives. Also surviving are his mother of Pekin; two sons, Brian (Mollie) Zimmerman and Keith (Alisha) Zimmerman, both of Pekin; eight grandchildren, Zackary, Nicholas, Cali, Jason, Natalie, Derek, Samuel and Cora, all of Pekin; one brother, Dennis (Debra) Zimmerman of Pekin; one sister, Joyce (Larry) Schoon of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.

His father preceded him in death.

He had worked as a welder for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 2002.

Ken will be remembered as a loving family man whose grandchildren were the joy of his life. He was also an avid sports fan, especially of the Chicago Cubs and Bears.

He had attended Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Peoria.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August, 27, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Mark J. Henninger will officiate. Visitation will be Friday eveningfrom 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
