

Born July 23, 1956 in Peoria to Max and Wilma (Hoerr) Ales, he married Jodi Ellen Schott on June 16, 1978 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kevin M. Ales and Jared A. Ales, both of South Pekin; his mother, Wilma Melton of Pekin; two sisters, Catherine Enlow of Springfield, Missouri and Christine Willis of Pekin; and several nieces and nephews including, Lisa Kesterson of Missouri who he helped raise.
He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Bill Melton; and one sister, Karen Carter.
Kevin worked as a master auto technician at Roland Rich Ford in Delavan for the past 11 years, last working Wednesday. Previously, he worked at several auto dealerships in the area.
He was a member of the River Valley Sportsman's Club in Germantown Hills.
Kevin was a musician at heart and loved playing music. He also enjoyed fishing. He was proud to be a conservative Republican.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday,January5,2011at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Eric Branch will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
