

Born July 12, 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she was a daughter of Loren Howard and Darlene Patricia (Bloomquist) Rask.
Surviving are her father of Pekin; one sister, Kari (Frank) Lewis of Pekin; two nephews, Matthew (Lisa) Lewis and Jonathan (Linnea) Lewis, both of Pekin and nine great nieces and nephews, Abigail, Chandler, Elliott, Eleanor, Patrick, Timothy, Katherine, Benjamin and Myles.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
A graduate of Pekin Community High School, Kim went on to earn her bachelor’s degree and master’s Degree, both from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais.
Kim retired from a career as a dedicated counselor in the communities of Bradley and last in Moline.
Kim was a caring and generous person, who loved the Lord, loved to travel, especially to her favorite spot in Two Harbors, Minnesota.
She also liked to collect stamps, coins and other memorabilia and was fond of her two dogs.
She attended Bridgeway Community Church in Pekin.
Her memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steven M. Rowell will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin.
