

Born June 12, 1944 in Decatur to Darwin Dale and Virginia Ann (Wilber) Creekmur, he graduated from East Peoria Community High School and Tennessee Temple University. He married Sharon Kaye Ethridge on July 22, 1966 in Creve Coeur. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Angela Knowles of Creve Coeur, John (Stacy) Creekmur of Pekin and Rachel (Kevin) Snow of Tremont; nine grandchildren, Ashley Knowles of Creve Coeur, Nicholas Knowles of Gibson, Tennessee, Drew (Cameron) Creekmur of Washington, D.C., Alex (Jeanie) Creekmur of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Connor (Emily) Creekmur of Morton, Abby Snow of Urbana, Sophie Snow, Bella Snow and Lily Snow, all of Tremont and two sisters, Gloria (Gary) Smith of Morton and Shirley (Stu) Nack of East Peoria. He also leaves three nieces, Tobi (Chris) Fisher of Houston, Texas, Dana (Matt) Ware of Arlington, Texas and Jackie (Josh) Thompson of Morton and one nephew, Joseph Smith of Sussex, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Larry was a member and former Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Pekin and an assistant Pastor at the former Memorial Baptist Church in Peoria. He also enjoyed doing interim Pastoral work at churches throughout Illinois. He also worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 35 years, retiring in 2002 as a Technical support analyst.
He loved and served his Lord. He loved the life that he lived, his wife of 54 years and his family beyond measure.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Randy Justus will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. The family requests those in attendance to wear a mask.
