

He was born August 21, 1943 in Pekin, Illinois to Louis Robert and Virginia (Bassett) Eertmoed, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Beverly Gray.
Surviving are his daughter, Gena Ertmoed of Pekin; three grandchildren, Nick, Raymond and Jake Timke and two brothers, Lloyd Eertmoed and Louis (Diane) Eertmoed of Pekin.
Larry was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a carpenter for Carpenter’s Local Union 644 in Pekin for over 20 years.
Larry enjoyed shoeing and riding horses and hunting.
He formerly attended of the Second Reformed Church in Pekin and was currently attending St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin.
His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2021 at War Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Military rites will be provided by the United States Marine Corps and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
