Lena Margaret Allen

Born February 24, 1936 in Peoria to Carl and Elizabeth (Johnson) Ponzel, she married Doyle Allen on August 4, 1956 in Bartonville. He passed away on May 22, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George Ponzel.

Surviving are two sons, David (Janet) Allen of Brimfield and Carl (Carol) Allen of East Peoria; two daughters, Karen (Glen) Heuermann of Hanna City and Marcy (Carl) Warren of Hanna City; seven grandchildren, Mandi (Stephen) Allen, Jacob (Tricia) Allen, Travis (Michelle) Allen, Anelle (Aaron) Ledvina, Emily Allen, Allison Fornal and Austin Warren and eight great-grandchildren.

Lena attended Zion Penn Ridge Lutheran Church in rural Trivoli.

She retired as a bookkeeper in 1998 from T. Haefli & Sons. She also worked at Trivoli Farmers Elevator Co-Op for several years.

Lena loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and cooking and baking her pies for them. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, gardening and mushroom hunting. She also liked playing board games and going to garage and estate sales.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2026 at Zion Penn Ridge Lutheran Church, 18015 West Smithville Road in rural Trivoli. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow the service at Penn Ridge Cemetery in rural Trivoli.
