

CREVE COEUR ~ Lena Mae McEntire, 102, of 213 Scenic Park Drive, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Washington Christian Village in Washington, where she resided for the past 13 months.
Born November 11, 1905 in Macomb to John and Maude Frazier, she spent her childhood in rural Industry. She married Ralph Earl McEntire in 1924. He died in 1967. She was also preceded in death by two sons (Lyle McEntire and George McEntire), one brother (Louis), four sisters (Flossy, Goldie, Gladys, and Mildred), and companion, Felix Daxenbichler.
Surviving are two daughter-in-laws, Deloris McEntire of Deltona, Florida and Louise McEntire of Washington; four grandchildren, Gary (Lori) McEntire of Thomasville, Georgia, Linda (Christ) Margais of Deltona, Florida, George McEntire of Sebastopol, California, and Karen (Ron) Reinholdt of Washington; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was a 1924 graduate of Industry High School.
A homemaker, Lena had worked at L.R. Nelson in Peoria in past years.
She was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in Peoria until the age of 98, where she served and enjoyed many dear friends. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Lena was able to live at her home until after her 100th birthday with the help of friends and family. She enjoyed caring for her flowers and vegetable garden.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2007at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Paul Isom will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Industry Cemetery in Industry.
