

Leona Marie Scarcliff, 101, of Glasford, Illinois, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Red Oak Memory Care in Canton, Illinois. She was born on September 22, 1915 in rural Canton, Illinois to Clarence and Vada (Williams) Albright. She married Eural John “Bud” Scarcliff on February 29, 1936 in Macomb, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1998 in Farmington, Illinois. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce McCabe and three sisters.
She is survived by one son, Bruce (Betty) Scarcliff of Glasford, Illinois; three grandchildren, Gloria (John) Davis, John (Cathy) Scarcliff and Larry (Juli) Scarcliff; seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Leona was a member of the White Chapel United Methodist Church where she was involved in the Ladies Aide Society and was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. She was the past president of the H.E.A. and a member of the Glasford Homemakers Extention. She was a former 4-H Leader.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 11:00 am at the White Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Rebecca Gearhart will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford. Memorials may be made to her church.
