

Born February 14, 1944 in Gorham to Luther and Bessie (Gulley) Porter, she married William Henry “Buster” Greer on February 14, 1980 in Pekin. He died December 15, 2013 in Laquey, MO. She also was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and eight brothers.
Surviving are three sons, Mark Allen (Lory) Hall of Groveland, Donald Leslie (Shannon) Hall and Dennis Wayne Hall, both of Pekin; one daughter, Janet Kay (Dale) Selburg of Pekin; three step-daughters, Julie (Henry) Bowen of St. Roberts, MO, Rebecca Greer of Lexington, MO and Jennifer (Gerald) Phillips of Springfield, MO; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Brenda (Bud) Phillips of Morton and two brothers, Steven Porter of El Paso and Charles Porter of Benton.
Linda worked as a C.N.A. most of her life and enjoyed working at the former McDaniel’s Nursing Home in El Paso in particular.
She enjoyed quilt making, needlepoint and knitting. She also enjoyed working puzzle books and jig saw puzzles.
Her memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Tim Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Private inurnment will in Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso.
