Linda Lou Shiflett

Born on April 18, 1953 in Astoria, she was a daughter of Vaughn E. and Margaret Lucille (Williams) Ashby. She married Glenn Eugene Shiflett in 1971 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died October 31, 2023. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Glenn Shiflett, Jr. and one brother, John Ashby.

Surviving are one daughter, Luwanna (Kelly Price) Chriswell of South Pekin; one son, Robert (Amanda) Shiflett of Pekin; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Yvonne Armstrong of Pekin.

Linda dedicated her career to working as a dishwasher and bus person at various restaurants in Pekin, lastly at Bob Evans. Her work was marked by her commitment and reliability.

In her personal life, Linda enjoyed crafting and playing bingo, especially during her time at Hallmark Healthcare. She was actively involved in her community and found joy in attending church, with her last attendance being at South Pekin General Baptist Church.

Linda was known for being a very loving and easy-going person who never wanted to be any trouble for anyone. She was always willing to help others if she could, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity.

Her visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A graveside service will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Canton. Pastor Nathan Noyes will officiate.
