

Born October 6, 1947 in Peoria to Harry Alfred and Marie Katherine (Dozard) Carson, he married Beverly Lorraine Hart on August 7, 1967 in East Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Pekin; two sisters, Judy (Tony) Naples of Kewaunee, Wisconsin and Bonnie (Gordon) Lofton of Pekin and one brother, Ron (Mary Lou) Carson of Warwick, New York. He was the father to six children and survived by five, Dinah (Mike) Nelson of Des Moines, Iowa, Lloyd Daniel Carson, April Leigh Franco, Jacob Kyle Carson, all of Pekin and David Andrew (Suzzette) Carson of Peoria. He also leaves 17 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Stephen Christopher “Toby” Carson on January 23, 1998 in Pekin; two brothers, Harry L. Carson and Robert W. Carson and two granddaughters, Kathlyn Carson and Ashley Wolf.
A 1965 graduate of East Peoria Community High School, Lloyd was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving four years.
He was employed at Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years in Morton, retiring in 1999. He served as a volunteer fire fighter on the North Pekin Fire Department for 6 years.
He attended Heartland Christian Fellowship in Groveland. He also was a member of Compassionate Friends of Pekin and the National Parents of Suicide group.
Lloyd was proud to have been the announcer for the radio broadcast “The Call to Worship” with Rev Ralph E. Hart on W.P.E.O Radio.
His memorial service will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Heartland Christian Fellowship in Groveland. The Revs. Mike and Lori Turner will officiate. Private burial will be in War Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Pekin, with military rites accorded by the United States Navy and the Tazewell Military Rites Team. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
