Born August 25, 1925 in Pekin to George and Nellie (Gifford) Woodworth, she married Theodore DeGolyer on September 30, 1943. He died November 1, 1996.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild; one sister and two brothers.
Surviving are three daughters, Barbara (Terry) Thorne, Lois (Tom) Swanson, and Patricia Rogers all of Pekin; one son, Theodore H. (Judy) DeGolyer, Jr. of Pekin; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Linda Frazier.
Lois was a nurse’s aide for 24 years at Pekin Hospital and retired in 1989. She continued to volunteer at Pekin Hospital following her retirement for many years.
She enjoyed playing Pinochle, walking, listening to Elvis and anything John Wayne. Her greatest enjoyment was spending quality time with family.
Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Jim West will officiate. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
