

Born April 25, 1939 in Bonne Terre, Missouri to Roy and LaVada (Anderson) Christopher, she married Paul Allen Barbey. He died September 14, 2001. She later married James Donald “J.D.” Privett on August 15, 2009 in Pekin. He died June 25, 2018 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Leroy Christopher and two nephews, Roger Christopher and Alan Mumaugh.
Surviving are one sister, Willadean Cosby of Mesa, Arizona; two nephews, Terry Mumaugh of Mesa, Arizona and Brian (June) Christopher of Potosi, Missouri; one niece, Carol Christopher of San Jose; many great-nieces and nephews; one stepdaughter, Paula (Russ) Hinderliter of Glasford; one stepson, Joseph (Jodie) Privett of Morton and four step grandchildren, Brent (Haley) Hinderliter, Alexandra Privett, J. Cameron (Marissa) Privett and Evan Privett.
Lorelei was a devoted homemaker. Her personal interests were diverse and included gardening, collecting glassware, and antiquing. She had a love for music, often playing the guitar and singing. Lorelei was also fond of dogs.
She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chip Herbert and Kenneth Seest will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour before the funeral. Private burial will be in White Church Cemetery in Fulton, Mississippi.
