Born February 6, 1942, in Eagle Creek, Tennessee to Amos Waverly and Perlie (Kelley) Lindsey, she married Ronald E. Cotner on Sept. 22, 1966, in Camden, Tennessee. He passed away March 30, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Louise Garner, Mary Lindsey and Jeannie Tolcher and one brother, Phillip Lindsey.
Surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Frank) McGinn of Bloomington; one granddaughter, Sophie McGinn of Bloomington; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Halls, Tennessee and Linda Clements of Newburn, Tennessee; one brother, Charles (Donna) Lindsey of Ripley, Tennessee; many nieces and nephews and her family of neighbors.
Susie worked for Methodist Hospital in Peoria as a CNA until her retirement in 1993.
She was an avid gardener and loved wildlife. She loved displaying her Christmas lights determined to have the most lights. Susie enjoyed singing and writing stories. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter.
Susie always looked out for people and would help to anyone in need.
Her funeral will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington.
