Lyle Joe “Buss” Bright Sr, 71 of Pekin, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born October 14, 1946 in Peoria, Illinois to Buford Donald and Patricia Joyce (Kaufmann) Bright and they preceded him in death. He married Linda Weast on April 26, 1968 in Pekin. His memory is cherished by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Linda and their children, Lyda (Mike) Magee, Lyle J. Bright II, Lyndon (Leann) Bright, Lori “PeeWee” Bright and Danelle Bright, a granddaughter whom they raised. He loved ALL of his nineteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and they loved him right back. Lyle never met a stranger and treated everyone like family. He loved to hunt and camp. In his youth he played in the Washington Jr. and Pekin High School bands. He later was a volunteer fireman for the former Pekin Civil Defense. He spent 30 years at Caterpillar before retiring in 1997. He was a member of Pekin Masonic Lodge #126 AF & AM, Mohammed Temple in Peoria and the Scottish Rite Bodies-Valley of Peoria. He was a proud Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam and was a Life Member of the AMVETS. All services will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin as follows: Visitation: 4:00-6:00 pm, Masonic Rites 6:15 pm and concluding with the funeral service at 6:30 pm with Navy Funeral Honors supported by the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Memorials are suggested to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

We are so, so, very sorry to hear of Lyle's passing. Lyle was a really great guy and a lot of fun at the reunions, he will definitely be missed.i always enjoyed talking and visiting with all your family, I only hope that we will still see yu at the Galveston Reunions which I know he loved.
