

MARQUETTE HEIGHTS ~ M. Janean Raker, 72, of 318 Kaskaskia, passed away at 1:23 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Born March, 23, 1939 in Jerseyville to John F. and Mary Ruth (Hughes) Mackelden, she married Henry A. Raker on December 12, 1964. He died April 17, 1996 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by one son, Robert A. Raker and one brother, Robert Mackelden.
Surviving are five daughters, Mary E. (Brad) Loesche of Lake in the Hills, Theresa Raker of Bellows Falls, Vermont, Stephanie Ann Probasco of Marquette Heights, Tina (David) Noke of Monee and Robin J. (James) Arnold of Brimfield; four sons, Anthony T. "Tony" (Teresa) Raker of East Peoria, Terry (Joyce) Hazelman of Manito, Sean Raker of Pekin, and Tim (Shelly) Berger of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jennie Lee of Marquette Heights.
Janean was a member of Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
A homemaker, Janean was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Pekin Women's Club. She also had been a member of the Amvets Post #235 Ladies Auxiliary, where she had served as former division President, state President and regional President.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur. Father Attilio Morelli will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Pekin Amvets Post #235 Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship Fund or Target Dottie Fund.
