

Born February 21, 1945 in Alton to Leo and Helen Dodd, she married William Richard “Bill” Buchanan, Sr. on September 1, 1972 in Decatur. He survives.
Also surviving are seven children, Linda (Mick) McGuire of Salem, Tami (Mike) Fryman and William (Michelle) Buchanan, Jr., both of Pekin, Debbie (Marc Julian) Schwarzentruber, Sherry Wirtz, and Kathi Byrne, all of Bloomington, and Jackie (Mike) Soberalski of LaSalle; many grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Jim (Carol) Dodd of Alton;one sister, Donna (Leonard) Stilts of Jerseyville; and her dog, Mickey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Frankie Dale Turner; and one sister.
Sue worked for Aramark at the Central Kitchen in Pekin as a cook for 12 years, retiring in 2007. Previously, she worked for TeleCable in Bloomington and later Menard’s in Pekin.
She was a member of the Jayco Heart of Illinois Jaytrackers, Bloomington-Normal Motorcycle Club, and Vagabonds Car Club in Bloomington.
Sue enjoyed bowling, gardening, and camping.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Johnny Creasong will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sand Prairie Cemetery in rural Green Valley.
