Born January 12, 1921 in Forest City to Elmer and Anna (Cannon) Thompson, she married Wesley T. Williams in Clinton, Iowa on July 25, 1938. He died April 5, 1998 in Pekin.
Surviving are three daughters, Kim M. Williams and Patricia (Jerry) Odden, both of Pekin and Esther Weber of Stockton, California; one son, Ronald T. Williams of Salem, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Arnett of Rockford; and her dog, Honey.
Mabel enjoyed crocheting, fishing, camping and reading. She worked as the head table lady at the American Distillery, retiring in 1980 after 33 years of service.
Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. The Rev. Tom Cone will officiate. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
