Maeanna Shelton

CREVE COEUR ~ Maeanna "Ann" Shelton, 99, of 1920 Willow Knolls Dr., Apt. 201, Peoria, passed away at 4:20 a.m., Thursday, Dec.16, 2010 at Heritage Manor in Chillicothe. She was formerly of Creve Coeur.

Born Sept.20, 1911 in Whitefield to Anton and Caroline (Sluga) Weber, she married Loren Shelton on May 4, 1929 in Peoria.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 24, 2005; 5 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Surviving are 2 sons, Robert (Geneva) Shelton of Bozeman, Montana and Richard (Betty) Shelton of Princeville; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Ann last worked as a secretary at Shelton Electric in Creve Coeur, retiring in 1970. Previously, she had been Post Mistress in Creve Coeur and worked at Hiram Walker’s in Peoria.

She enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and cooking for her family.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday,December21, 2010at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Elmwood.
